GUIZE....update on the chemical spill. Still can't use water, but there are TWO MG's parked out in front of the offending chemical tanks!

The water will be flowing by me soon. Waterworks has added a bit of chlorine to the supply.

As an MG owner/driver, I confirm the accuracy of your suggestion.

As a former Land Rover enthusiast with a father who is MG nutty, it had to be said

My understanding of the stuff is that it's a derivative of benzene, and an alcohol. Chlorine is used as a disinfectant, and there's nothing to kill here, so I'm confused as to why they'd add more chlorine.

I don't know why either, but you can smell it.

Fuck yeah village spring water.

Hm. My kind of-educated guess is that it's something unrelated that they're treating for. That, or they don't know what they're doing, in which case, move away!

You are around Cinci right? And you can smell the chemicals? It was REAL bad here on Thursday Friday and Saturday.

You are correct, That is why the plant didn't disinfect the water that was being pulled and our water pipes are now contaminated.

Just the extra chlorine smell

Oh! the chemical smells sweet, like licorice. I don't know if I would be surprised or not if you could smell it. I could smell it 2 miles away from the river and about 5 miles from the source on Friday night. And I can smell in the water that comes from the tap. It is some pretty potent stuff.
